Cardio Fit at 11:00 a.m. Improve your cardiovascular fitness with this energetic class.This class includes three segments:cardiovascular workout, strength training, and stretching.
Conductorcise at 1:00 p.m. Developed by Maestro David Dworkin, this session allows you to become one with classical music selections while getting a good cardiovascular workout.
Brainbuilders at 1:30 p.m. This group session includes exercises to stimulate your mind including games, puzzles, and more.

"Heritage University"- Lifelong Health Date: Mondays throughout February Time: 3:00 pm Location: Private Dining Room in the Wellness Center Details: A new offering from our BeWell Educated line of programming, the Heritage University will be offering college level courses in the comfort of our Wellness Center.This course, "Lifelong Health", will be facilitated by our own Wellness Nurse, Brenda Musick. The Professor is Anthony A Goodman of Cornell Medical College and it is an essential reference guide to healthy living, rooted in the latest scientific understanding of nutrition, physiology, and other related fields. BeWell Computer Classes-Led by USC Students Date: Mondays beginning February 6 Time: 4:00 p.m. Location: Activity Room in Wellness Center & Boliek Basement Details: We are beginning the fourth year of Computer Classes that are taught by students of the University of South Carolina, Computer Science College. Kickoff for this program is on February 6 and will be held in the Activity Room of the Wellness Center. You must attend the kickoff to sign up for the additional workshops. These workshops will include the basics of emailing and surfing the internet, as well as, FaceBook, Googling, and everything Photos! Second Annual Not-So-Westminster Dog Show Date: Wednesday February 15 Time: 4:00 p.m. Location: Hoefler Gallery in the Wellness Center Details: The Westminster Dog Show is a National attraction, so why not have one at the Heritage at Lowman too? Last year we started this tradition and we proudly displayed 15 prized pooches. We will hold the Not-So-Westminster Dog Show again and are inviting all residents, members, staff, volunteers and guest to enter your dog in this hour of fun! Judges will award certificates for "Best in Show", "Best Trick" and other fun categories. Creative Sparks- Palmetto Paint and Pour Date: Thursdays February 16, 23, and March 1 Time: 4:00 pm Location: Activity Room in the Wellness Center Details: Jana Gambrell, owner of Palmetto Paint and Pour, will be coming to teach a series of 3 classes which will lead everyone on how to create their own work of art!Step by step instructions will be given on how to paint a beautiful palmetto tree print! Sundays at Lowman Concert Series Laury Christie, soprano Charles Fugo, piano Date: Sunday, February 19 Time: 3:00 pm Location: New Life Chapel in the Wellness Center Details: Laury Christie's musical career bridges the US and European opera theaters and concert halls. To her credit she has hundreds of performances of 35 major opera roles in the soprano repertoire and in concert with such orchestras as the Boston, Chicago, Charleston, South Carolina Philharmonic and Milwaukee Symphonies. As a member of the music faculty at the University of South Carolina, Ms. Christie was an active performing artist and master class teacher regionally, nationally and internationally. Upon her retirement in 2004, she was awarded the title Distinguished Emerita Professor of Music. Accompanying her on the piano will be Dr. Charles Fugo, Professor of Music at the University of South Carolina. He has played collaborative recitals at New York City's Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and performed extensively throughout the Southeast in ensembles, as accompanist and as a solo artist. Cooking FRESH! Date: Monday, February 20 Time: 2:00 p.m. Location: Wellness Center-Formal Dining Room Details: Cooking FRESH! is a cooking series offered to residents at the Heritage at Lowman which focuses on fresh ingredients which are prepared in new and exciting ways. The series is complimented by visiting chefs from some of our favorite local eateries or cooking schools. Simple recipes are demonstrated and samples of the preparations are given to all participants.This month our own chef Rick Schmitt will be preparing a yummy recipe for all to sample! BeWell Educated: Alzheimer's Caregiver Series Three-Part Educational Series Date: Thursday, March 8, 15 and 22 Time: 5:30 -7:00 pm Location: Heritage at Lowman Wellness Center Details: This three-part educational series for caregivers of individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia is free for family caregivers. Also, a complimentary meal will be provided each week. Topics include: Week 1: "How to Be a Smart Caregiver" presented by Marie Connolly, RN Week 2: "The Latest and Greatest in Alzheimer's" presented by Dr. Stan McCloy Week 3: "Keeping the Dialogue Going: Communication Skills" presented by Jan Merling. Hoefler Tapestry Collection Exhibition Date: Monday 3/12; Wednesday 3/14; Friday 3/16; Tuesday 3/20; Thursday 3/22; Saturday 3/24 Time: 11 am – 4 pm each date Location:Wellness Center, 2101 Dutch Fork Rd, Chapin, SC Details: Individuals and groups are invited to tour of the Heritage at Lowman's exquisite collection of needlepoint tapestries. There are over 60 tapestries in the collection, each one depicting an event in the life of Christ as told in the Gospels or other religious themes. The tapestries were designed and made by the late Reverend Dr. Richard Carl Hoefler (1922-1999), a distinguished Professor of Worship and Preaching at the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary and a longtime resident at the Heritage at Lowman. A soup and salad lunch may be purchased 11:30 to 1:00 on each day, however, space is limited and advance reservations are required. Sundays at Lowman Concert Series Agnes Wan, piano Date: Sunday, March 18 Time: 3:00 pm Location: New Life Chapel in the Wellness Center Details: A native of Hong Kong, pianist Ho Yan Agnes Wan holds a Bachelor of Music degree with honors in piano performance from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, master's degrees in piano and music therapy from Loyola University New Orleans, the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa, and the Artist Diploma in Piano from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Wan has been an award recipient at numerous international competitions, performed solo at Carnegie Hall, and gave a successful recital debut at Merkin Concert Hall in New York in 2007. In recent years, she has given full-length solo recitals in more than ten states. Besides performing, Dr. Wan is an enthusiastic clinician, researcher, and author, and frequent adjudicator at youth piano competitions.
